Fossil fuels are terrible and absolutely horrible for the environment. It causes global warming because burning fossil fuels releases CO2 into the air. Burning fossil fuels creates smoke which is bad for the air and the ozone layer. The Ozone layer is a gas that filters the ultraviolet rays from the sun. Without the ozone layer we will not be able to survive on Earth.
The amount of people using cars every day is mind blowing, so think about how much CO2 we release if everyone including teenagers are driving almost everyday. The percentage of people who drive alone to work everyday is 77% of Americans. One idea for helping the environment is carpooling to work, school or other places you want to go. You’re using fossil fuels everyday whether you know it or not if you’re cooking you are using fossil fuels, and if you’re taking out the trash out the trash truck uses gasoline to transport the waste. The amount of oil used in a day in America is 82.4 million barrels that is way too much.
In less than a century Earth’s fossil fuels will be gone imagine a world without cars running on gas, and a world without plastic. Many things are made from plastic possibly designs on your shirt could made of plastic, the wrapper on a piece of candy is plastic. Do you see what I mean? Try to use public transportation such as buses, trains, and the metro, also drive less, if a place is close bike don’t drive. What are you going to do to help the environment?
